All of our batteries come fully charged, maintenance free (just fit and forget about them – no topping up with water required) and can be fitted free of charge at any one of our garages. These are manufactured under extremely strict quality control procedures and are renowned throughout the industry for their reliability, quality and long service life, and as such are supplied as O.E. (Original Equipment) to Renault, VW, Ford, Nissan, Fiat, Mercedes Benz, Hyundai and Iveco for use in their vehicles. Why a Silver Calcium Battery?

Moura’s Silver Calcium batteries provide increased reliability, service life and starting power and were designed specifically to meet the growing demands placed on today’s batteries. These include increased numbers of in-car accessories, more sophisticated vehicle electronics, heated windows, windscreens and seats, short or stop/start journeys and high under bonnet temperatures, all of which have a large draining effect on your car’s battery. In these situations a Silver Calcium battery is recommended.

Since the year 2000 most European vehicles come fitted with a Smart Charging System (SCS) to take care of these increased battery demands. The SCS charges batteries up to 18 volts, which is much higher than a conventional charging system and is designed only to work with batteries manufactured with silver technology.

The Silver Calcium is essentially alloyed with the lead in the battery, and it’s this that enables the battery to accept this higher charge rate and recharge much quicker ensuring you always have the power available when you need it. If a conventional battery were fitted in to one of these systems, the acid would turn black and there would be a high loss of electrolyte. This would invalidate the warranty, the battery would not give a good service and would unlikely last its guarantee period.

If your car was manufactured after 2000, it is likely you’ll need a silver calcium battery.
